Blog Post: National Rural Education Technology Summit

DK's work on blended learning is constantly enlightened by talent outside of Colorado's Front Range and challenged by the limitations of rural access to technology. We've seen practitioners in the rural parts of the state doing incredible things with blended, for example Mike Post from Buena Vista, who spoke at the March 22 blended learning summit. But, we hear over and over again that broadband access is a huge obstacle to blended and digital learning opportunities outstate.

Here's an opportunity to learn more about what's going on nationally with digital learning. Guests include Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Smithsonian Institute Secretary Wayne Clough. The US Department of Education promises "examples of how technology is being used to overcome the challenges of distance and increase access to educational opportunities in distant and remote rural areas"
