Mission:
The Donnell-Kay Foundation improves public education and drives systemic school reform in Colorado through solid research, creative dialogue and critical thinking.
What We Do:
In order to build a strong future for Colorado, we must provide a high quality education for all our students. The Foundation focuses on funding systemic reform and state level policy in the areas of early childhood, K-12, and higher education.
The Foundation also provides operating and program funding to school districts and non-profit organizations statewide - with a focus on urban schools in metro-Denver.
Who We Are:
The Donnell-Kay Foundation is a private family foundation that operates as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and was incorporated in 1965 in Florida through a trust by the Kay family. The board of trustees is led by Allen Dines, a former Colorado state legislator, who has an abiding interest in improving public education. The Executive Director is Tony Lewis.
Who We Support:
Annually, the Foundation provides approximately $1 million to support education improvement and reform efforts in Colorado.
The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals, but does accept concept papers that address statewide educational policy issues.
