Community Speaker Series - November 2009 - March 2010:
"Learn More. Expect More. Do More" was a three-part speaker series, open to the public, focused on educating and involving the community in education issues.
November 2009: Our first speaker was Dr. Howard Fuller, a Distinguished Professor of Education and Founder/Director of the Institute for the Transformation of Learning at Marquette University. Dr. Fuller previously served as the Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools June 1991 - June 1995. He has become nationally known for his unending support for fundamental educational reform.
February 2010: Our second speaker was Eva Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer, Success Charter Network, Feb 18, 5:00 - 6:30p, at Montbello High School.
March 2010: Our third and final speakers were Ben Austin and Shirley Ford, representatives from Los Angeles, Parent Revolution, March 4, 5:30 - 7:00p, at Valdez Elementary School.
